I have a Musicman and i've been playing slap for about a year or more now, i was just at Guitar Center and played a few other basses and it seems easier on those to mute the strings while i slap then it does with my bass, any ideas why this would be? Thanks

Their neck pickups (if you have one) get in the way for my double-thumbing. But they are good...it is whats most comfortable for you, so dont take suggestions from others, go test it for yourself. |

| | | | Its not the shape of the neck, i tried a Fender Jazz, another Musicman, a Warwick Corvette and a few other basses, could it just be because my bass isnt set up right?

| | | | I have the action set pretty low, but not real low, i like a little bit of height, ya the string gauges i have are 47-107 by Powerbass, i usually play 45-100.

If thats the case, I'd say the action's off. That's not too hard of an adjustment to do on your own, just search for a guide. |

| | | | Ya i've adjusted the action to my liking, i started praticing muting only while i slap and its help a ton, it was my left hand, it was completely muting the strings, but thanks for all the help.
