slapping on a short scale

i have a gretsch electromatic junior jet http://www.guitarcenter.com/Gretsch-...47-i1320394.gc

and i wanted to know if it was good for slapping, despite it being short scale. can anyone show me a good technique for slapping on it and what causes there to be problems with slapping on short scale. thanks.
