Slides on bass
Is their any bassists out there that use slides on bass, if so what kind of slide is best for bass, in experimentation higher notes register better than lower notes

The formerly alive Mark Sandman of Morphine comes to mind.

Mark Sandman played a two stringed bass with a slide on his pinky. I'm reasonably certain that it was tuned A-D.
A few years ago I was listening to Led Zepplin III a lot and got interested in open tuned slide bass (Jimmy Page plays a lot of open tuned slide guitar on that record). As it happens, I tuned D-A-D-A, similar to what Mark sandman had done earlier. I play a brass slide on my ring finger on acoustic bass guitar.

Kevin Rutmanis, formerly of The Cows, Melvins, and Tomahawk, plays distorted slide bass.

I use one sometimes, and I've always used a simple glass slide that goes over your finger.

I only like glass slides. Heard others use metal and they sound good, but it's not for me. Not that I do it very often at all anymore, but I have and I really like it.
