squeaking?
like a fuzzy rattle?
is it coming from your finger and the string, or your fretboard and the string?

Exclamation Squeaking

Actually really the only way to minimze squeaking is with more practice in finger force. Usually you squeak if you press harder than normal. I found that when I play quicker and cleaner that there is a lot less sqeaking and almost none at all. Just try to use less force when playing the song and you should be fine. Just keep practicing bud.

Hit the nail on the head.
Then again, are you using new strings? fretted/fretless bass?
And i repeat my last question:
Is it more rattle from the fretboard than noise from your fingers?

We may be able to helkp you out a bit more than just telling you to practice if you filled us in on these details.

regards...
