Slim neck allows for lower strapping?

is it true that if you have a slimmer neck you can like lower your strap more since its easier to go around the frets? Btw, I use a yamaha attitude bass, people say it has a P Bass style neck. is it consider thick, average or slim?

stop worrying about lower straps...its probably the worst thing you can do for your playing.

I wear my bass like a necklace, I can almost lick it when I play

Seriously, I wear it really high, higher than most other bassists I've seen. But I feel comfortable that way, and i also feel like it gives me greater agility for my fret hand. Playing higher is also great for tapping, the closer you are to your eyes, the easier it is to tap right.

I constantly adjust my strap depending on what the song I'm playing requires. Sometimes higher is comfortable, and sometimes it's a pain in.
