I've been playing bass for about 11 years. I'm all right. It seems like I hit more strings that I shouldn't when I play "really fast" notes sometimes. I guess maybe 32nds. I don't know. Granted, I don't play as often as I used to. I haven't played in almost a couple months now. I think maybe it's psychological. Maybe when I'm actually playing I'm not as sloppy. I don't know. Ugh.

Well, I'd say if you're hitting strings you don't intend to, that would be sloppy.

Most bassists don't play 32nd notes too often as it's hard for those low frequencies to articulate at real high speed, so maybe if you slow down a little you'll be better off.

Maybe 16ths. And it's only for like a quick lick sometimes.

Record yourself. Recordings don't lie. If you're sloppy, you'll hear it right away.

I'd say the best bet is to slow down the passages. Get 'em secure at lower tempos. Then increase the speed. Be conscious of your form, and think about the consistency of plucking technique, and work exercises across the strings.
