Hey dont know if this is the right place for this ?

I know how to play "If you want me to stay", but I want to play it right, Is he palm muting every other note or what in some of the main riff, any help with this would be great, thanks.

If I remember correctly this line was not even played by Larry Graham - it was right after he left.

EDIT: Yeah, Wikipedia says that Rustee Allen played this part.

Anyway, I could be wrong, but to me it sounds like the whole song is fingerstyle, just with the action set so that when you dig in you get that nice thumpy tone, such as the riff at 0:17 that goes C# C B.

That parts that sort of "bounce," where he accents every other note, he's just alternately digging in to the bass, as far as I can tell (that's how I play it anyway).

He does "If you want me to stay" despite not having played on the original. Maybe in part 2 of that vid?
