okay first off my hands were washed before playing so no candy or Big Mac greese(LOL)but after 2 hours jamming with a friend I find my left(neck) hand getting sticky. Maybe sweat or???is this common?and what do you guys do or use for this problem?I found a quick wipe on my pants didn't help much.

Keep a small bottle of Johnson's Baby Powerder in your bag...Instant dry hands...and fresh as a baby's bottom too! :^)

I have no idea, because people's metabolism and bodily secretions, like sweat, vary greatly. I wash my hands thoroughly before I start playing to avoid getting a lot of junk on the strings. I have no problem with a sticky neck.

FYI: I always keep a medium size bathroom towel (WalMart $4.95) that I carry in my gig-bag that gets placed in some convenient spot as I set-up, so I can quickly grab it and run it up-n-down the back of the neck during performances. After all, most of us are not in A-list bands getting handed a fresh, tuned instrument after every song by a roadie.

It also is useful to quickly wipe the sweat off the 'ol brow on those nights when things get a little hot-n-heavy.

I keep one of those bandana/hanky things hanging out of my pocket when I'm playing. Good for drying hands or wiping off the neck and strings.

Haha, I have the opposite problem. My hands, and especially my finger tips, get damn dry.

I should keep a small bowl of water around on stage, haha...

I just keep a polish cloth handy to wipe down the neck...never had any problems. That being said...use is sparingly...don't let the stuff dump all over everything and you should be fine!
