Question Stompbox or percussion play

Sign in to disble this ad
Ok guys,

I am in an acoustic group. We do mainly rock or indie rock. We have a lead singer, an acousitic guitarist and me on bass and BGV. We sound good but there are times when some type of beat would be great. The lead singer sometimes uses a shaker that is about it. I am thinking about getting an ellis stompbox or something similiar. I definately need to stand to get the energy for singing the high harmonies. Would a kick drum work??? Is there something I can do with the bass percussion wise?

Thanks!

My first thought was to invest in a loop pedal. You could drum out a beat on the body of the guitar using the different percussive possibilities of strumming and tapping muted strings and so on. Leave it looping and play over it..
