do i use a pick or fingers to play like these guys? (individual answers would be great) TIA guys and girls!

I'm not really qualified to answer this, as I am only familiar with a couple of these bands, but I would certainly say that for the most part, a lot of hard/heavy rock bassists use picks, to cut through the mix. I prefer fingerstyle, but then again, I play jazz/funk/blues. That's my 2 cents

Audioslave and incubus i would used fingerstyle.

The others not to sure but there most likely using a pick so i would use one for them!

dirk lance is all about smooth fingerstyle and then biting down with the fingers to get some growl from his warwick. I can't replicate his tone with a pick and I essentially have his rig scaled down. With fingers though, I'm pretty much there.
