Sweeps on Bass

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi there, Iīve been searching on the forum for sweep technique exercises on bass, but havenīt found anything. Iīve been trying to get the chops on this technique, a la Adam Nitti, but if anyone post exercises, or tips to get the technique running and ways to apply the sweep into making music. Thanks and take care.

you will have to look at guitar player exercice for it. Also, you will see it in technical death metal.

Viraemia - Disseminated Intravascular Coagulation on bass guitar - YouTube

you should also check out bajskung on youtube, you may get some idea but still I think guitar player methode is your best bet.

This what you're looking for? If you search through Abraham Laboriel's vids on youtube you'll find other examples of him sweeping....and doing all sorts of other mind blowing stuff.

Hey man, I've been trying to work on my sweep technique also, and there just aren't many resources for bassists out there, so it'd be really appreciated if you could send you exercises over this way too, I'd be most grateful! Thanks in advance dude!

Actually that`s awesome technique, i think in past i went though one or his videos, and that`s insane. Actually that`s exactly what i`m trying to do but in a different context

Please if possible, send me exercises..that would be great. Thanks in advance.
The thing is that that`s exactly what i want but the thing is that I`m not that metal fan anymore, so I want to use that kind of sound and technique into a more progresive style meets fuzion jazz stuff. Something in between Dream Theater-Mndflowers-Adam Nitti.. So the exercises will be the same, just a different music with it.

The abe laboriel kind of thing is great, but that`s not what i`m looking for, actually he went to my country a couple of years ago, I talked to him and got my bass signed, he is an amazing player but is a different style, more percussive. But thanks for the link, I actually have that complete video..
Thank you all very much!
