Switching between 34" and 30"

Sign in to disble this ad
I currently play a Jazz bass and am considering getting a Brice "Beatle" bass because...well, just because :-)

I had a Mustang and sold it because I was having problems switching between scales, but am feeling more confident these days and would like to try it again. Do any of you switch regularly between scale lenghts and if so, do you find it difficult?

Perhaps it's all in my head?

Thanks in advance,
FC

I switch between my 34" scale basses and my Fender Musicmaster constantly with very few problems... If anything, it takes me a wee bit, (a few bars or so), to adjust to the shorter scale... Going the other way is not a problem at all...

I'm currently working on three basses...

-- 30" fretless, (re-working a late 60's Beatle bass copy)

-- 32" fretless, from scratch

-- 41 1/2" EUB, from scratch

May have a few issues switching between these three!
