Tab number in brackets

Could someone explain please a tab number in brackets ?

Eg: (2) 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 (2) 3 3 3

I couldn't say for certain in your example but I've seen some where the note in parenthesis isn't meant to be played but to let it ring from the previous, so...-3-3-3-(3)-3-3-3-3 ..You would play 3 three times and let the third one ring and then hit it four more times. In your example they're showing a different note though..do you have an example from a specific song?

Usually, that means a ghost note (where you don't actually fully fret the note).

A lot of times, people will have notes with their tabs to explain different notations. Not everyone does it the same exact way.

Usually to let it ring they put "~"
What I mostly see is the numbers in parentheses are optional and are what the author plays.

ok thank you to the replies.... had a bit more time and its ghost notes.

another question eighth notes interwoven with up side down eighth notes ?? with 2nd time written underneath.
