Dunlop Nylon 1mm, Clayton Acetal Polymers 1.14, and felt picks for the bronze strings on my ABG. Anything other than fingers or felt on bronze strings gets some serious dookie sounding clank. Leather or maybe some kind of soft rubberish material would be cool to try for bronze strings. What other pick materials are out there?

I hate picks. If I use one, which is only for Roundabout really, it's a Dunlop 1mm, sometimes a 1.14. Some songs I need a little smoother sound, if I can get away with fingers I will and if not I use a Dunlop 1.5 or 2.

I've moved on to a meaner pick, that takes 10X longer to wear and is stiffer(yet not any thicker):

1mm Pickboy Modulous Carbon picks

Did the same thing, now I've got one of these and a few PickBoy Carbon Nylons, 1mm. Last FOREVER, don't slip out of my swampy sweaty fingers, and have an attack that is so quick and clean I'd play with 'em if they hurt.

Love them.

So didja hear the one about the mainly Off Topic poster who wanders into an actual bass related thread about favorite picks and the first words outta his mouth are, "I hate picks?"

I'm partial to the white Carol Kaye picks.

I don't always use picks, but when I do, I use Tortex .50s.

Dunlop Ultex Hetfield Black Fangs 1.14...
They produce a great sound, hardly go blunt (I've been playing with the same pick for 6 months and there has been no change in sharpness) and sound killer with a bit of distortion on. The design, even if it does get rubbed off quickly, is nice too.

Same here, it is small enough to not feel awkward in my hand and thick enough to get a nice attack. After getting used to one of those no pick feels as good for me, even though I don't use picks a massive ammount.

Been using the same ones I used for guitar; those dinky green Dunlop ones.

I always thought a standard sized pick would do, but the little ones are just easier to move about & keep in my hand.

I don't use a pick that often...usually when outdoors and the humidity is raging. By the 3rd set, my pluckin' hand is done.

My guitarist swears by the v-picks. I have been using the 3mm Gravity Razor XL and love it. Not zingy like most I've tried and they dont bend.
