Tapping on bass

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello all searched and found nothing.

Anyways, I was wondering how to make tapping on a bass easier. I started taping on a little 3/4 sized bass the other day and it was relatively easier. Then i went and tried it out on my 6 string and while i could do it it wasnt as easy as it was when using the 3/4 size. is it the shorter scale coming into play or what?

Probably less string tension.

More likely the action and tension in the strings, too high and/or too tense makes tapping hard (and playing in general). The best thing for making it easier is getting better by practicing if the issue isn't those things.

It's your action. I had a bass set up specifically for tapping with extremely low action, worked great.
