I would recommend Peter Murray's "Essential Bass Technique" as a good guide to electric bass technique. I bought this book a while back as a source of reference material. Once I got it I realised that it is pretty much spot on with how I approach technique. It is well illustrated and covers both left and right hand technique for fingerstyle playing pretty thoroughly.
