Technique for Primus' Golden Boy?

Sign in to disble this ad
I've been working on learning Golden Boy lately, and I've got it down pretty good. The one thing that really gives me trouble, though, is the strummed riff; I can't seem to figure out how Les gets that sort-of staccato feel to most of the chords. I've tinkered with palm muting after each strum (I think that's how Groundhog Day is played), or lifting off the frets after strums, but it still doesn't sound quite right.

Anyone have any suggestions?

It's pretty much that. Takes some getting use to and practice to get it fluid and sounding clean.
