Technique used in Mudvayne's "Happy?"

Sign in to disble this ad
I recently saw Mudvayne's video for "Happy?" and I noticed that the bassist was using some strange technique. I listened closely and it sounded really cool. He only does it in the chorus, not the verse. If anyone is familiar with what i'm talking about, please educate me.

here's a link to the video:

saw this talked about awhile ago. in the chorus he is pretty much tapping that line.

There was a interview about that video somewhere where he said he was tapping it,

Tapped harmonics. Fret the low notes, and tap them an octave higher. As it says in the BP interview, acts kinda like an octave effect.
