Who does Marcus Miller do that version on The Sun Don't Lie. And don't say practice because I expected to do that anyway.

1. Get your double-thumb technique together (going up and down with the thumb like a plectrum).
2. Plenty of hammer-ons and pull-offs.
3. LOTS of practice!

Does he use the thumb up and down thing? because I was under the impression that he played like will lee, just strait pop-slap. Plus there's an attack on every note so there couldn't be too much hammering on.

double thumbing:

i believe he said he had been getting more and more back into double thumbing in the last few years. I'm pretty sure i read that in the BP with him on the cover. does anyone know for sure?

There's no double thumbing on Teen Town, though he does get into it on the new record.

I've never heard anybody do it better than the guy who wrote it.

True...but it's something different to be explored.
