Teen Town technique

In "Teen Town", is Jaco slapping the intro? It seems really fast to slap, and while I know it's possible, he could have just been attacking the strings hard when he played them. Does anyone know for sure?

The studio version is completely fingerstyle. Live, Jaco would do these slaps and slides in the beginning that were reminiscent of what conga palyers do before launching into the main body of the tune.

Marcus Miller does an amazing slap version of Teen Town.
