So...I have fallen for this Sterling at the store. Blue with matching headstock, maple neck and board, HS pups, 5 way toggle, 3 band preamp, white pearl guard...very nice looking, plays great and sounds nice - and different from my Bartolini equipped Yamaha.
The problem - it's a 4 string. I have never held on to a 4 string. I always convince myself I need a 5 - and I do for 3-4 songs - but really, except for church, I could probably get by with 4. I think I just need to play a 4 and get used to the changes I'd need to make to a few tunes.
I'm keeping the 5 - it's a fantastic bass, but there's something about the Sterling. I love the the small body and it looks so damn cool.
Not really a point, just "journaling" online I guess to help me justify spending money for a bass I don't really need but would love to have.
