The thinner the pick, the more zing. T/F?

I feel that when using picks over say, 1.5 mm, you lose quite a bit of zing and snap.

I don't know, I've gone all the way from .60's to 2 mm picks, and I can play the strings harder with a thicker pick and get, not just a thicker sound, but even more bite. But I play really hard.

I use 2mm just because it feels easier to use.

Given that 2 picks have the same shape, are made of the same material and have the same amount of usage, yes thinner picks = more zing.

There is a point of diminishing returns once the pick starts getting too thin and flexible; then it loses both zing and punch. I like extra heavy picks for more thumpier traditional bass roles, but tend more toward medium-heavy for "twangier" tones where I want there to be a snap in the high end.
