for those of you who practice multiple times a day

I tend to break my practice sessions up into 30 minute sessions about 3-5 times a day when the time permits.

Im curious for those of you who do the same, do you stretch before every session, or do you only stretch before the first practice session? I have been stretching each and every time, and my fear is there could be a point of diminishing returns where stretching my fingers/wrist to many times in a day could be harmful.

So my question is do you stretch once a day, or stretch everytime you pick up your bass? If at all.

I practice for half an hour before and after work, and I stretch my hands both times for a few minutes each session.

People who practice yoga or gymnastics don't seem to share your fear.

All I'm saying is listen to your body. If you start to create situations where you experience pain, discontinue the creation of those situations. Otherwise being limber seems to have great health benefits when it comes to longevity.

I stretch everytime I pick up the bass. IMO, the benefits of doing so, far out weigh any reasons you can think of (and I cant think of any) as to why you should not. As long as the stretches are gentle and not forced, I cant see any problems in doing them before every practice session.
