Three Hand Technique

Sign in to disble this ad
I am looking information about the "three finger technique" that uses thumb, index and middle fingers. I have read a lot about the one with index, middle and ring fingers but there's not (or at least I haven't encountered any) a lot info on this other approach. Any help will be appreciated.

Oh man, I wish I had a third hand. Think of the possibilities.
You lucky three hander.

But seriously, look through some Billy Sheehan youtube-vids. There's a couple where he explains about his three finger technique.

It's simple; you play a nice bottom groove with your left and right hands, and tap a melody in the high register using your middle hand.

I saw Michael Manring playing 3 basses at once - although he required an additional helping hand - from Steve Lawson on this occasion!

So - he has 2 basses strapped on and his "helper", held out a 3rd bass which he plucked as well!

A 3rd hand would have been very useful for this piece no doubt!!

I have met many 3 handed managers, promoters, record execs. and the like...they were all left handed, right handed and under handed.
