I'm a bit new to the whole plucking thing - what is this thumb pluck that marus miller talks about, can anyone give me a description? is it plucking upwards from under the string with the top of your thumb or am i on the completely wrong path?

It sounds like what you're talking about is the up stroke of a double thump, where on the downstroke you thump through the string and then "pluck" the string with the corner of your thumbnail on the way back.

I can't do it and don't really have an instrument right now that it would sound good on anyway...but Urb Munki has a video thread in here about double thumbing...check it out...great stuff...videos and everything.
