So, my keyboardist arranged a jam with some musicians over at our local music highschool. Since they're all educated in music, I already knew I was up for a challenge. I got a text to learn this song today:

It took me hours of intense practicing, starting at half the bpm to learn the intro. I've never really had to put so much work into learning something. Basically, what I'm wondering is, how difficult would you say this song is? I mean, I've been playing bass for 4 years now; should this song be that hard to learn?
Am I "lagging behind", or am I getting ahead of myself?
