trouble with bass lead

I'm having trouble coming up with a bass lead I'm happy with any suggestions? Ive made a few before but argh I just dont like what Im coming up with

try using different scales, modes, relative minor ect... figure out what emotion you want to express and find a scale that fits.

try starting a lead with a different finger than your used to. Most of us use the 1st finger too much! Play in a different place on the neck than you're used to. Sometimes a different look or feel inspires you to play something you wouldn't normally.

Also, try listening to something different. I get inspired when I hear something really different.
