Tuning a 6er like guitar for Nathan Hughes n Seth Horan style?

Sign in to disble this ad
I am a big fan of solo bassist who also sing such as Nathan Hughes (check the video Glove) and Seth Horan (Smth Pretty)
I am mainly a guitar player and singer but I also have good chops on bass such as tapping-slapping-chordal stuff.
I just want to use my harmony knowledge for guitar on the bass. I already have 4er n 5 er basses .
I want a 6er now. Is it a good idea to tune a 6 stringed bass as guitar EADGBE instead of BEADGC (DOnt need the LOW B anyway) Would it be comfortable on the neck?

My buddy does that, its a lot of fun to play around with. He uses a peavey cirrus 6er to do it and it works fine, though he probably needed a setup before it was playable.
