ok, this is basically coming from my love for RATM...

Why do some bands tune to 445hz and not 440hz???
is there a valid answer for this or just preference??

also a bit of a wierd/philosofical question...what would you say the normal tuning on a kubicki would be? GDAD or GDAE??

i would say GDAD

but anywho.....

Cheers
Heath

guessing 440 hz is E dropped to D. By that reasoning because it's lower and matchs a drop D guitarist. Guitarists do that to facilitate easier power chords.

there's my two cents

but if you tune an E to 445hz and then set your tuner to goto 440 its only a 1/4 difference..nowhere near D

ok im confused now

cos 440hz is classified by normal tuning...as far as i know...and bands like ratm tune....as my tuner dictates 20% higher that 440% which is also known as 445hz.....in other words...a little sharp than normal....

i told you i was confused

sorry I dont know the Hertz of each specific noted.

But I am pretty sure bands like Rage and Tool tune down just to give a slightly lower tuning.

Also my tuner has an on/off switch thats it. There is no way for me to set the Hertz
