When people say about John Entwistle typewritter technique, what are they talking about? I heard people say it alot, and I also read in BassPlayer that Pino was having a hard time emulating it.

John showed me that technique once, and it's VERY difficult to get.

For one thing, he played with his bass REALLY loud, and then played very softly, barely touching the strings.
That's part of how it works... and that in and of itself is difficult to do in a loud, rocking band setting.
At least for ME!
