Using pinky for wide spread notes.

I've been trying to incorporate my pinky in my playing but without much succes.

I am learning to play seemann from rammstein and need to touch the 9th fret and the 14th at the same time.
Each time i do my pinky goes in to some sort of cramp and folds back when i release the note

Are there things i can do that will get me to cover more distance or should i train the pinky ?

Thanks in advance.

Don't stretch from the pinky. Stretch from where you have the most stretchability...between first and middle finger.
