I was playing my fretless today and doing some vibration lower down on the neck and I realized that my left arm was having some issues. I do my vibrato parallel to the strings, and mostly by pivoting the end of my finger. What I noticed is that my left arm was really tired when doing this, and I think I felt an almost ache-like sensation in my elbow... like my forearm was completely tensing whenever I would do my vibrato.
Can anyone help me? Thanks :hyper:
Practice, but maybe experiment with higher neck positions on your bass too... Like tilted neck up. Make sure you're not holding up a heavy neck dive issue too...
Likely more and better advice coming along
I'm no great authority on technique, but I can repeat what I've learned (from TB...).
Use more of the pad, less the tip, and it's more of a roll than a pivot.
It's what I've been doing without issues - but I'll bet you practice more than I do...
If I've learned something wrong (_not_ the first time this has occurred on TB...) I'm sure someone else will step in to correct me, and then we'll both have learned something... I hate spreading misinformation...
