Victor Wooten Amazing Grace - YouTube at about 1:42 to me it sounds like he's sliding the harmonic. Does anyone have any idea what he's doing here and how?

The moment you play the harmonic you fret it so you can slide with it. You will see it more often done by fretless bass player.

Wow...that is amazing (no pun intended). I always loved that melody and have wanted to incorporate it into a bass solo. Listening to that made me think he is the Gauguin to Jaco's Van Gogh.

The harmonic slide is easier on a fretless. If you just want a half step you can hit the harmonic and bend the string behind the nut.
