It looks like floating thumb, but it kinda looks like he uses his thumb to pick instead of mute. |

| | Registered User | | Join Date: Apr 2004 Location: Michigan | | | He is using a hybrid of (at least it looks like it to me please do not flame just an opinion) moveable anchor (as he seems to move his thumb from string to string when he is using only two fingers to pluck) and kind of the Matt Garison/Gary Willis use of the thumb (more Matt less Gary as I believe Gary doesn't generally use his middle when plucking with his thumb). He of course shoots right to a double thumb and pop for the speed section at the end of the solo (although with his thumb and two finger approach he could have easily summoned the speed to play that passage that way).
This is at least how it appears to me.
