i get the most mileage out of blues, dorian and myxolydian. not playing the scales straight during songs, but using notes and chords from those scales. the three seem to cover a lot of rock and blues music that is out there.

To answer your question.....Minor Pentatonic, Dorian, Melodic Minor and Harmonic Miinor. But, I agree with all the above.

Learn the modes

Aeolian #1, Dorian a close #2 for me. Both great for heavy rock music. Stu Hamm made a course for Truefire.com called Fretboard Fitness that got me out of a creative rut and really helped me understand and use the modes. My writing and improvising have improved a lot from it. And no, I'm not a mole from truefire. Hope this helps.

Dragon scales are badass. As long as they are brutal, medieval, killing knights and eating sacrificed virgins type dragons.

The skinny asian dragons with the little wings and long mustaches are just wusses and their scales aren't as badass.
