What's the proper technique for tapping?

Sign in to disble this ad
When i tap one string then i'm supposed to do HP/PO..

but when i do melodic lines on different strings, i've been experimenting doing Hp/Po but it seems to slow me down and when i do it with my left hand im pretty gone...

it looks like stu hamms tapping often is no Hp/Po but when i play like that i just get a staccato kind of tone..

also, could someone give me excercises for bot multi-string and single string tapping, also when i use all my fingers..

i haave noticed that some guitar players talks about 8finger tapping, but when do you use 8finger tapping on one string?

I've been interested in the same thing. Somebody posted this link,
http://www28.tok2.com/home/nussy/techlab/g-menu-t.html, the other day in another forum but I dont remember which one. It 's got mp3 and midi examples with the tabs.
