When 3 (or 4) finger picking, which finger do you start with?

Like, do you start with the pinky, then ring, then middle, then index, and so on? Or is it the opposite?

If I play 3 finger (like Entwistle) I mainly play ring-middle-index. Or vice-versa, sometimes it alternates.

mainly ring-middle-index or index-ring-middle or thumb-ring-middle-index and thumb-index-middle-ring if each fingers have a string.

ring-middle-index for me, which is odd because I do index-middle with 2 fingers, can't play with 4 fingers.

There's no fixed sequence for me. If I use all three, it may be that number one hits a string, number two mutes and number three reaches for the next note to play. If you are really having fun, you won't notice which finger does what.

If I'm gonna use three, it's usually ring-middle-index. If two, then it's middle-index sometimes and index-middle in others.
