When slap bass goes wrong!

Sign in to disble this ad
So after I got my P-bass I got really into slap bass so much so that I started using it in Green Day songs yeah Green Day so anyway one day i'm playing Give it Away and all the sudden I couldn't feel the side of my thumb so immediately I stop playing for the night. But down by the bottom of my thumb its this blackish color so I stop playing for the night the next day after I regained feeling in my thumb i'm playing paintball with some friends in the middle of a match I couldn't feel my thumb again and now i'm freakin out but I kept playing and 5 minutes later I still couldn't feel my thumb but then I hit my thumb off the trigger and I can feel again it was so weird and its been fine ever since I don't know what I did but now I take precaution when playing anything slap related.

Wow.

Dude.

Use a lil spacing, you're making it near impossible for me to read.

If you can't feel your thumb, it may be time to go to the doctor. Just IMHO.

I'd say you're probably hammering with your thumb WAY to hard. On both the bass, and your paintball gun.

Playing an instrument should not be painful. If it is, you're doing something wrong.

This.

And man, grammar is important! I had trouble reading your post.

OT, why are you using your thumb to play paintball?

You might be hitting the strings too hard, crushing the tiny veins in your thumb, restricting the blood flow to the thumb. See a doctor!
