Where to stash the pick?

If you play with both your fingers and a pick (and your thumb) where do you put the pick when you aren't using it?

I use one of these (or something like it, lots of variations: Amazon.com: Dunlop Ergo Pickholder: Musical Instruments

Sticks to the pickguard just below the strings, easy grab, holds 6-8 picks. I have one on each bass.

I just hold it with my mouth. Or wedge it between the pickguard and body if i dont need it for a while.

Use your thumb to slide it down to the last knuckle joint where your ring finger meets your palm and hold it there. Reverse to restore. Takes some practice but it works.

I've managed to master sliding mine into the space between the neck pickup and wood on my bass, since I don't have a PG. Since when I play fingerstyle, I rest my thumb either there or on the bridge pickup, depending on the tone I'm aiming for, its easy to grab it again.

In the pickholder on the mic stand, or slid down to my palm in between my fingers.

I used to use a thumb pick a lot years ago. It just stays on your thumb while fingering.
Not good for bare thumb playing tho..

I find I only use a pick for specific songs, so it's either wedged under the pickguard or it's sitting on top of the amp. I do have a pick holder that clips on a mic stand, but I only take that out when I'm playing guitar. A strip of gaff tape (NEVER use duct tape around music stuff- the residue is awful and it's stupid stuff- I don't even use it on duct work any more) works fine too.

You could always wedge it between the strings above the nut. I've seen that done before.

Depending on the gaps between the saddles on your G&L, you might get away with this:

If you have a pickguard, loosen a couple screws about half a turn and cram how ever many you need in between the guard and the body. If you don't, shove a pick or two between the body and a pickup. I play guitar (telecaster) and just shove picks under the pickguard. I rarely if ever use picks for bass so I keep one in the fold between the bill of my hat an my forehead for bass playing.

I put a couple in the bridge between a spring and a string, one in my strap (it has two holes to vary the length, and I fit a pick in the one Iīm not using), and some other ones on my amp. Or I just nick the guitaristīs.
