just wondering if a lot of guys use the thumb to pluck the strings only,no fingers?and how do you find playing this way?

I can play much faster with my fingers though, it just feels more "right." |

Of course, more meat= more bass, but beyond that I find that rotating movement lends a whole different rythmn to things. I'm not a country player, I'm using this in a funky- R+B style. It is impossible to overplay when you do it! Unlike using a pick(which I also do) you can switch back and forth from fingers and thumb for interesting combinations of attack in the same line.
