For Whom The Bell Tolls (Live!)

Sign in to disble this ad
Ya I just learned For Whom The Bell Tolls (easy song) but for an extra challenge I'm trying to also pull of the live version and Holy crap those hammer ons Cliff use killed me, they're so fast and in time without slurring into each other, whenever I try to pull those off they always slur. Anyways it seemed my hammer ons were fine before and could keep up but after trying to attempt this it seemed that I should still work on them to increase some speed. So now to the point any tips on keeping up and sounding good with these hammer ons so I can pull off this awesome live lick?

Here's the vid ( the riff starts at :32 but I'm sure if yur a Cliff fan you wouldn't mind watching the solo), he really goes at it

That video made me start playin' bass, I orginally wanted to play guitar, but Cliff proved to me that the 4 string mean machine can do the same RIP Cliff Burton.

(I wish I could help you peaveyuser, but I'm asking the same question like you dude )

And remember your not playing it right unless your headbanging like Cliff while doing so! Cliff's the reason I always wanted to play bass too, I'll have to practice that index pinkey technique.

Well... breaking out a wah like he's using would help. Wah's have that whole "sounds like you're playing 500x as many notes as you actually are" thing that guitar players love about them...
