| | | Ive played for 3 yrs w/o a pick but I decided to expand my abilities a few yrs ago and Ive found, as of late, that I really dig the 1.0mm blue tortex guys shown here http://www.jimdunlop.com/index.php?p...products/picks
they have a softer feel but a harder attack than the nylons ive used....But Ill always prefer fingers to anything.

Hard material makes them stiff and makes them last |

| | | 1,50-2,00. Always in between of those or 1,50/2,00
Thinner than 1,50: Too thin
Thicker than 2,00: Too thick

Both for playing funky lines in a rhythm guitar fashion and harder rock |

I read a while back that McCartney used a HUGE felt pick in the early days. About the size of your thumb so he always got a "thump" instead of a "click".
Non-bass related I also read that Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top used a 25 cent piece coin. Now THAT's attack ! |
