Anyone ever hear of this or see this? What's the point?
Why would I want to do that?

Why do people think nose grease or licking your fingers is gross? I don't understand. Bunch-a hand sanitising sissies!

Because it is. Sissy or not, it's just gross.

Bonus: If you put your slim on your bass strings at a show, then the other bass player will think twice about asking to borrow your bass!!

I do it sometimes?? What's the big deal??? Like if the strings are already at the end of their life and they are torturing my fingers and i was to broke or cheap to have picked up a new set before playing... Got me thru!!!

I don't like anything but dry fingers on my strings. And if my hands get clammy, I'll wash my hands in between sets. But at home, I'll wipe them down with rubbing alcohol. It brightens them right up!

Although if you do grease up your strings, you could like her: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oI_lRB-ezC4

Given the season it's probably a simple case of too much booze and not enough water. Or... He's a wierdo with 80's reunion hair metal band envy. Either way he's in trouble. Did they cover "Every Rose"?

Man, every time I hear SCOTS I think to myself that I need to listen to them more. I love their stuff and I don't give them the attention they deserve.

Ya know that's almost the vibe the guy was copping (black cowboy hat, boots, all black clothes, chain-to-the-wallet kinda thing). He would play a little something special (he had pretty good chops) and then look around the room, checking to see if anyone was visibly impressed.

What really made it out of place was that this was a Tom Petty tribute band.

As long as he wasn't playing a neon pink BC Ritch Warlock bass.

Been playing over 30 years and have always done it. Feels better. Saw John Deacon do it in a video from an early queen song and figured why not

May he had some LSD residue on his strings he was trying to get off.
