Your signature move?

Sign in to disble this ad
Forgive me if this has been posted before but I was thinking to myself about how I play and I realize that there's one thing that I do quite a lot; a "signature move" if you will. It's stupid simple but I call it the Semitone Slide. And yes, it's awesome enough to necessitate bold italics, lol. Anyway, I just slide down one semitone from whatever note I'm currently on. Simple? Yes. Funky? Damn straight!

So does anyone have any signature moves they'd like to share? Names are required !

my signature move is packing up and leaving immediately after the gig so i don't have to hear the drummer complain that i didn't help him

me too - though my drummer rarely complains in general, and it took longer to get paid this way. So I stick around for a while now. Of course now I have to help load the PA and all.

Ill go with the super fast slide, I think like your talking about. Like, sliding from E to E# really fast and repetitive.

I think thats what you mean. I do it too, a lot.

I have one that I never thought of a name for. Let's call it the "tritone wiggle." you hit an open string, let's say the A string, then find the major 3rd and minor 7th tritone on the D and G strings. Slide into the double stop from the fret below (pitch wise), and wiggle (slide up and down and up) as the notes decay. Flatwounds and low action make this much easier.

I show up on time ready to play the gig I was hired to play. Seemingly rare...

Mine is to step on a power cord and unplug someone's amp in the middle of a song. Sometimes, for variety, I will trip and fall in the process.

Signature move? I guess I hold the pen tilted slightly backward so my signature looks like I'm left handed even though I'm not...

This signature move has its drawbacks - I tend to smudge ink from the line above my signature between the first and second knuckles on my pinky finger, which then smudges everything else I write.

I do something very similar, though I find it works better when I slide from from E to F.

YMMV, of course.

What, did I mess up? E to F, same thing.. You get my point. I play by feel, not knowledge.

My signature move is holding a groove with my left hand & drinking a beer with my right.
