Anybody here try this thing? http://www.musiciansfriend.com/produ...ick?sku=110100
Looks interesting.
I imagine I could go back and forth between picking and thumping/popping with ease. I wonder if I could do the same with pick and pizzicato. That ring might be awkward. |

Personally I think it looks cool, but a bit expensive for a pick. |

| | Reserved for future witty use... | | | | | Check the reviews, there's some mention of it's strength and it's wearing out quickly. I imagine if that's a problem on a regular guitar, it'll just fall apart on a bass.

And yes, I often do feel as though the pick moves around on me.

| But I often mute the upper stings with my pinky and ring finger.

JAUQO III-X, has an interesting take on the issue: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xTMCqHpg5q4 |

The actual pick is .6mm which is in the range I use. I'm a little clumsy flipping it out of the way to play fingerstyle or thumping and then flipping it back again, but I'll get better with practice. It's an interesting concept that I may stick with for the long haul. I'll see. |

And I find that normal picks have never sit well in my hand over any period of time. This thing keeps in in exactly the same place no matter how hard I play. |

I combine this with a Planet Waves Adjustable Insert Pick and I get something that sounds close to a finger, feels like a pick, and can't be dropped. Means I still get to have a career (hooray!). But .60mm is REALLY floppy for me... I've searched and searched and cannot find the company who makes this (or any presence they have online other than the big internet stores that sell the picks).
A bouquet of flowers to anyone who can get me in touch with the main company, or find these picks in a heavier gauge!
