I've never used it in the setting you described though. The real reason I purchased it was because of the volume. I was going to make an extreme mod so I could play it as an oversized ABG. Through encouragement of others NOT to make any changes, I found an ABG that's minimaly suitable for me, and decided to sell this bass unaltered. It's a cool instrument to play for sure. |

Even the "loud" ones, no longer made, seem to be quite loud enough, ie, Guilds, Takomas, Earthwoods. The good thing is I have an old all-tube Alamo bass amp w/ a 15" that sounds great & doesn't take up much car room. At any rate, what is the make & model of the 1/8th?

They are starting to make their way back into the States and offer two nice ABGs. I was comfortable enough with one of them to use.
The 1\8 bass is basically a generic Made in China bass. Nicely made. Easy to set up. In fact, the strings it came with are pretty good. Kind of slinky they make the action easy. Scale being about 31" it takes a little getting used to. I just found the harmonics and worked from there. |
