| *SOLD* 1940 American Standard A well beaten up American Standard bass #1073. Bass body has been extensively rebuilt: Bass bar re-glued, with a patch added under the belly to strengthen the top and focus the sound, new ebony fingerboard, bridge, nut, new Thomastik strings, end pin etc.... The heal has several wood screws and dowels that are unsightly but it is completely solid.
This bass plays easily and has a fine sound. It also has a 43 inch scale length, and after a year of playing it I've said enough. My hands prefer something a little more user friendly.
If you know these basses you may find yourself quite drawn to this one. It has a great old patina and booming sound. Price is firm.
