*SOLD* 1940 Kay S-51 "Swingmaster" upright bass, s/n 6677, MD/DC/VA

For sale:
1940 Kay S-51 "Swingmaster" upright bass, s/n 6677. Kay's top of the line brown 5 string bass has been converted to 4 string by previous owner. I want to offer this first on Talkbass before I use E-bay. 3/4 size.
More information about this model: http://www.kaybass.com/
Condition: The condition is excellent for a bass this old. Was setup by Mike Shank (shankstrings.com) in July 2006. I have hardly touched it since then. It has scratches and blemishes, but that's all. It has a nice flame finish which I tried to bring out in the photos.
Ebony 'board/nut; hard maple adjustable bridge. The tailpiece is not original, but I will include the original 5 string tailpiece.
Otherwise, there isn't anything you need to do to this to get it gig ready.
Sound: This bass has really good, loud sound and projects well. Great tone for blues, bluegrass, jazz, etc., for any type you'd want to use a Kay.
I have Obligatos on it, and both a Fishman Full Circle p/up and a K&K Bass Max p/up come with it.
Price: This model usually commands among the highest price of Kay basses. [A shop in Virginia has one for sale for $3900.00]. $3000.00 (includes the pickups, the original tailpiece, wooden bridge adjusters, B string peg assembly).
Pick-up only, I'm located in Silver Spring, MD.
Thanks,
Tommy Hannigan

Did you sell this bass?

Did you sell it? What was the final price? I've got an opportunity to buy a '39 S-51 and I am trying to assess its value.
