| *SOLD* 1966 laminated Juzek bass for sale The repairs are going to cost me $900, so I will sell the bass for that amount. If no one wants a Juzek for $900 I'll keep it.
The engine in my wife's car finally blew and none of the other gear I'm listing for sale is moving, so maybe this will.
The story that came with this bass is that it was purchased in 1966 by the Niagara Falls, NY school district and survived about 10 years in the student orchestra before the school killed its string program and the instruments were given to the string teacher. The teacher had this bass unstrung until earlier this year, when I bought it from the music store he sold it to.
The bass has a 39" string length and the body is about an inch narrower than my German 3/4. Overall length is 68" and the depth of the ribs at the C bouts is 8". It's a loud and reasonably full-sounding bass, especially under the bow. Aluminum bridge adjusters and braided steel tailpiece cable from Lemur have been installed. No-name black nylon bag in good shape is included.
Looking for $1500 which is what the repairs to the Chevy are going to run me. The bass and I are local to Albany, NY which is 120 miles due North of NYC but I'm willing to drive a reasonable distance. Please email for bad cell-cam pics. Sorry, but that's the best I can do at the moment.
