I am selling my Acoustic Image Contra IIa. It is in very good condition.

I love this amp. I am selling it because I bought a Series III Coda and have no reason to own two Acoustic Image Amplifiers. I bought the series III because it is lighter and chose the Coda so that I have the option to plug a mike in.

Note that this is the series IIa in which the head is recessed. Looks better and is smaller.

This amp has served me very well in big band and combo situations. I have never wanted for power. I have noted the debates in Talk Bass about the relative merits of the acoustic image vs the GK112. I used to have a GK and sold it in favor of the AI. I vastly prefer the sound of the AI not only for upright but electric as well.

I am in the San Jose California Area. If you do not pick up $35 for shipping within the Continental US. I think $700 is fair. A new Series III is about $1100 plus shipping and tax. Shipping is in a genuine AI box with packing material.
